Clickbank University 2.0 Review

Clickbank University 2.0 Review

If you’re planning on buying the Clickbank University 2.0 course, you’re in the right place. I bought it a few weeks ago, and I’m ready to tell you all you need to know about it. Once we’re done, you’ll know for sure if this is the course for you.

What is Clickbank University 2.0?

Clickbank University 2.0 is a eCommerce and dropshipping program. It costs $47 monthly and was created by Matt Hulett, Adam Horwitz, and Justin Atlan.

Clickbank University is a somewhat different course to the rest. You have 2 choices, and you can pick one or both.

  1. Learn about creating and selling your products.
  2. Learn about affiliate marketing and sell products from others.

My favorite was the latter choice, just focusing on selling products from other people instead of managing your own inventory. I believe most of those buying this course will also go for this option.

Working with a product of your own costs a significant amount of money and time. It’s something you can consider doing only if you have enough money, and you can get that through affiliate marketing. You can even learn from your affiliate marketing experience and come up with a better product than what you promote.

The course covers the essential of both methods and goes into minute details of each topic. Clickbank University 2.0 is divided into weeks so that you can learn at your own pace.

Make sure you read the entire review to make an informed decision if Clickbank University 2.0 is right for you or not!

Who is Clickbank University 2.0 for?

Clickbank University 2.0 is aimed at those looking to establish an online business. The course is ideal for both dropshippers and people looking to sell their own products. Both aspects are covered by the authors so that you can get the best of both worlds.

eCommerce sellers who want to increase revenues can also benefit from this course.

Who are the Founders of Clickbank University 2.0?

Matt Hulett, Adam Horwitz, and Justin Atlan are the authors of this course.

Matt Hulett is a well-known entrepreneur and experienced consultant. He has guided several businesses to write their success stories.

Adam Horwitz is a digital tycoon who made it big selling his products on ClickBank. He is now earning a seven-figure income and ready to share his secrets for success.

Justin Alan is an avid entrepreneur and marketing expert. He is a pro at coming up with effective monetization strategies for his clients.

What is Included in Clickbank University 2.0?

Clickbank University interface provides the following options.

Members area

You receive a welcome video from Justin and Adam explaining how to make your way around the course, begin, and all that.

This section is where you choose whether to become a vendor or an affiliate marketer. Adam teaches you the affiliate stuff, and Justin goes over becoming a vendor, creating your own products for affiliates to market it.

You also have some options on the menu, but the main ones are affiliates and vendors for you to choose one. You also have two additional sections: traffic and tools, which we’ll analyze later on.

Finally, you can access live webinars by signing up and there’s a course forum for members as well.

Affiliate classes

The training for affiliate marketing is taught by Adam through a program spanning 8 weeks. You can access all the weeks right away; you just need to provide your name and email address through a form to access it.

If you decide not to do that, you can still see the content, but you have to wait for each module to unlock.

Breaking down the modules: what are you getting from CBU 2.0?

Now, we’ll go through each week of the affiliate training program. Read below to learn what you get each week and what’s the focus content.

  • Affiliate marking

You get 3 videos for your fist week, and they all add up to around 18 minutes. This week goes by before you notice, so you can use your free time to research on your own.

First, you go through making up your profit plan and setting up the foundations for your upcoming success. Finally, the longer video goes on to explain how to set your goals and the proper mindset for you to speed up your results.

  • Affiliate marketing explained

This is another short module with less than half an hour’s worth of training. This will be a very boring section for people with knowledge on the affiliate marketing basics and a fundamental understanding of Clickbank.

There are also very few secrets regarding products; it’s mostly a blend between what makes you passionate and what really sells, which Adam tells you.

It’s mostly general overviews, nothing out of the ordinary.

The first video is an introduction. The next one offers a basic explanation of the business model. The second-to-last one tells you how to use Clickbank before closing with a last video on what makes a hot product on the platform.

  • Find your passion

This week teaches you why it’s a good idea to promote a product that inspires your passion. It goes through product research and how to find the best one you can promote.

Take care of choosing large niches like fitness, which is something they also explain in this week. Competition is fierce there, and you’re better off reducing your niche regardless of what you choose. That means finding subcategories as specific as you can, like how to build muscle on a certain body type within a certain age. You get the point.

This is another week closing in on 20 minutes, which by this point, starts to feel like the entire approach here.

  • Affiliate funnel

This gives you 25 full minutes for your 4th week of training. Regarding traffic, Adam explains how traffic should go towards a landing page for you to collect their emails; this lets you keep selling products to these visitors repeatedly.

This is the best approach if you want your business to last, so refrain from sending your traffic directly to the offers.

The 101 on affiliate funneling focuses on offering free stuff in exchange of an email address. There’s also a video on building a squeeze page, where you learn how to build one for their builder (the one I already mentioned).

This is a good moment to repeat that you don’t need to buy this software. It’s too expensive, and you can get something much better for up to $500 less.

  • Over delivering

The 5th week explains to you what over-delivering means, which is basically to provide a lot of value without any costs.

You’re taught how to build relationships with the people on your list. If you skip this, you’ll have a hard time selling anything. They also teach you how to come up with content: PDFs, videos, broadcasts, podcasts, and other options to increase that value.

You then learn how you can outsource all that work to someone else so that you can work on other things. This section has a really odd moment where Adam talks about Elance.

Why is that odd? Well, Elance turned into Upwork quite a few years ago, so it really makes you think about how old this course is and how much of its content is equally outdated. Most people noticed this as well, definitely a worrying sign.

Finally, another week that lasts less than 20 minutes.

  • Swipe optimization

And again, you’ll finish this week in 20 minutes. Adam explains how to increase the chances of your customers opening their emails and clicking on your links. You need to focus on your subject lines and use trigger words to condition those clicks according to him.

Yeah, that’s something that’s pretty much out of your control.

You can increase the likelihood of getting clicks, but there’s no perfect solutions. Some niches offer higher open rates than others, and no one can really change that. This section is that: pure theory and zero practical stuff.

Even worse, Adam promotes using clickbait headlines and anchor links that may end up getting your email stuck in spam filters. That means no views for your emails.

  • Email blueprint

You’re recommended to use Aweber in this section, but that’s up to you. There are many similar tools fitting different needs, so do your research before choosing one.

You can watch a basic video walking you through how to broadcast emails to your subscribers. This was disappointing since it’s a really old email automation method. Adam then takes you through how to set up an autoresponder to get your emails sent at your chosen intervals. Again, a lot of outdated practices, replaced today by workflows that let you track actions and follow them up with individual commands.

Workflows offer a lot more. For instance, if someone doesn’t open an email, you can have it resent a couple hours later with another headline. If they did click a link, you can send them more offers depending on what they clicked.

The entirety of this module offers you outdated an inefficient approaches. It’s especially disappointing since this is one of the few modules that go over the 20-minute mark (still less than half an hour, though).

  • Scaling

You get the usual introduction before Adam starts explaining traffic and recommending you to stick to a single method. You then go into the traffic section, so yeah, this video just exists to extend the module so that it can get near 20 minutes.

The “floodgates” video touches on traffic, but avoids teaching anything relevant, so you need to go to the section on traffic –again. He does explain how you can use influencers to get traffic as well as from Facebook and YouTube marketing.

The last video on product creation is an introduction to the vendor’s side of the course, where you can create products and use your email list on it.

CBU Vendor Section

If what you want is to create your own products, then I’ve got you covered, for I also took that class.

This training teaches how you can create digital products based on what you like the most. These are more oriented towards guides like how to become better at something.

Now, you really shouldn’t start this model if you know nothing or little about affiliate marketing. You want to understand how to sell products from someone else before you start working on your own.

By doing the former, you’ll have a grasp on marketing, choosing niches, and an audience of you own.

Here, you can choose to have affiliate marketers doing the selling for you, or you can do that yourself and keep all profits.

  • Setting up

The first week has Justin introducing you to the vendor world. It starts with a standard introduction, explaining the pros of having your products. The following video focuses on mindset as paramount for this business.

It spends most of its 7-minute length on creating habits and methods. I admit I liked this video since they tend to go off the rails, but Justin keeps it straight to the point.

The profit plan content tells you to blend your passions, market profitability, and your own experience. You need to spend some time thinking since all 3 elements must be there if you want to have success.

The final video talks about setting goals, but it feels strange since it’s closely related to the first one, so it’d make more sense to have it there.

  • Finding your product

This module focuses on finding the perfect product by combining the 3 elements mentioned earlier. The video on discovering what makes you passionate takes you through the categories in ClickBank to discover how you can exploit the things you like.

Then there’s a video on analyzing the market, where you’ll learn what markets are good for you. Basically, you want to fulfill emotional and practical issues and have reasons to add extra value for your customers to choose you over your competitors. It’s all in a single 25-minute video.

Finally, the last video goes through analyzing other products in Clickbank to figure out a formula for you.

This week closes with a surprising duration nearing a full hour.

  • Avatar creation

This module explains how an avatar is the concept of your customer’s identity. It includes their identity, tastes, and more. Your offer must match that avatar, and Justin tells you how to do that.

Justin spends the next video on telling you how to uncover the desires and fears from your avatar. You want to understand their age, language, location, gender, and a lot more. Then, you get a video on creating a 1-minute pitch for you to get people to buy your product.

Finally, the last video tells you how to find the best domain and name for your offer. He uses Godaddy to explain it, but there are many alternatives.

  • Creating and outsourcing content creation

The 4th week dives into your product’s creation. Your product will basically be content, either written, audio, or video.

You have a video teaching you how you can break down the course, from intro to a finale where your clients will feel satisfied by what they got. Then, you learn about formatting your product after your outline is ready: what form you want your offer to be in.

Finally, the blueprint video gives you Justin’s approach for delivering that content.

  • The perfect upsell

Here, you’ll learn why people use upsells and how profitable they are. You then learn how to create your own.

The video on understanding numbers tells you how you can even triple your income through upsells. Upsells are smaller products you create as complements to your main offer. The next video teaches you how to make your upsells more efficient through his own formula.

The closing video goes through price and copies, teaching you the proper copy and pricing you should use.

  • Sales copy

This module comes from Matt O’Connor, who’s said to be related to the copy for this course. This module teaches you how to write your letters for regular and video sales, how to use copy to get more sales, audience targeting, and more ideas like how to structure your letters.

This is an interesting section; writing good copies can make or break your business.

  • Easy VSL

We’re back with Justin, now teaching us how to make a video sales letter. It’s a prevalent element in most Clickbank products, but you don’t have to worry if you’re afraid of the camera since this goes into text-based content.

You’ll learn how to set up your videos with PowerPoint before closing with Camtasia. However, despite how good Camtasia is, it’s an old approach that’s been outperformed by more efficient methods.

You can still apply the format you’re taught, but you should definitely look up other tools via a quick Google search. Another option is to simply outsource it; you do get a video on that as well.

  • Finalizing products

This week has you finishing your product with the Clickbank Builder or any program you chose. You learn how to make people visit your site and turn them into customers. This step has you putting on your clients’ shoes, understanding how to think the way they do and turning that knowledge into more sales.

You also learn the flow of your customer’s experience and the way it looks for each page. The most important pages you learn about are the sales and product pages.

  • Setting up Clickbank

The 9th week has you learning how to create and configure your account on Clickbank, readying you for its marketplace.

You also receive information on setting up your website and products, as well as integrating all of that into Clickbank. It then teaches you how to make test purchases to verify that everything works properly after you’re finished with the creation process.

  • JV management

Here, you’ll learn how to reach JV’s and affiliates to market your product. Clickbank has over 100k affiliates, and you want to draw some of that talent into your products. Justin tells you how you can expose your offer to attract affiliates.

He delves into the proper mentality to make affiliates consider your products. The video on creating affiliate tools tells you how to use their builder to make the process easier. The next video on reaching the circle of affiliates explains how to get inside.

That circle is a group promoting products in which affiliates know each other and share their strategies. It’s a club that can get its members working for you, and Justin breaks down the process.

  • A/B testing

Here, you’ll learn about how to split-test your pages; this lets you find out which pages work better and which you should ditch.

The video on testing blueprints, Justin breaks down his own strategy, suggesting you to wait to gather the necessary data before going into testing. You need a few sales beforehand.

He also explains some tools you can use, but I can recommend you use Thrive and WordPress since it’s one of the most cost-effective platforms around today.

The last video is a case study showing you a split-test they did on an older version of their course; you can get a good idea on how you do it.

  • Scaling

The last week tells you how to grow your business. The primary way is expanding the traffic you get, and Justin directs you to the corresponding section.

He explains promoting related products to your customer base as the focus strategy. You do this by using an email marketing tool like GetResponse to send funnels and get more money later.

Finally, he touches on coaching and consulting as well as speaking events. You want to do that through live webinars you can use to promote high-ticket items. While not everyone will be into this, Justin offers an excellent explanation on how to do it.

  • Bonuses

The bonus section finishes the formal training, and it goes into webinar creation you can use to generate sales through live environments. Many people use webinars today, and you should join the trend and squeeze as many profits as you can.

It includes a video (13 minutes) from a different person on how to do it. You also get content on sales funnels types and how to make your live webinar successful. While it’s not for everyone, confident speakers should at least try it.

If you don’t fit that profile, you can try to make a few for yourself and look for what you should improve.

Traffic content

This section discusses the best traffic methods according to the course authors. However, they do tell they skipped a few to avoid overwhelming beginners.

I have a problem with that statement since traffic is one of the toughest parts of any online venture, and you really want to learn as many methods as you can. My theory is that they just got lazy during this part, but others suspect they simply didn’t know anything else.

They also sourced this training to different marketers. Maybe they aren’t experts in this matter, but regardless, this was definitely a failure. You really should learn everything they can teach you for what you’re paying.

  • YouTube Ads

This lesson is given by Will Flynn, and it’s basically a tutorial on creating and preparing your YouTube channel and directing traffic towards your content via paid ads.

  • Introducing Facebook Ads

This one comes from J.R. Fisher, and it’s a weird section. It doesn’t start off from Facebook Ads; he talks about proper mindset for getting stuff done, how your main enemy is your brain, self-convincing, etc.

Weird stuff.

He then goes into goals and why you should exploit Facebook Ads before discussing budgets and dropshipping… Yes.

It’s an all-around weird section that feels like filler, or the guy was someone’s cousin and really wanted to be in this course.

  • Setting up Facebook ads (Robby Blanchard)

Then comes the real Facebook Ads section by yet another tutor. Luckily, Robby seems to be the #1 Clickbank seller right now, and he even has a course of his own, so it’s a nice teacher to have.

This training teaches you how you can set up your Ads account and use it to create ads. He also touches on configuring your pixel and adsets as well as other related practices. It’s a single video, and it feels like they recorded a webinar.

It’s around 1 and a half hour, so it’s enough content, but you can still find more value with other courses like Savage Affiliates.

  • Search ads (Fred Lam)

Fred Lam is a name you probably heard at least once before reading this. He’s developed many courses covering pretty much all aspects of online marketing in existence. He specializes in Google paid ads.

This video is another seemingly recorded webinar that lasts for about an hour. In it, Fred provides an overview on advertising through Google and Bing.

The information is fairly out of date, however, and even commenters call out that issue regularly.

  • Shout-outs on Instagram (Adam Horwitz)

Adam closes the traffic section by telling you how you can drive traffic from Instagram to your products, whether you’re an affiliate or a vendor; it’s the same for either.

The tactic he explains is to have Instagram influencers posting shout outs of what you’re offering. That’s a good way to direct a significant number of visitors to your pages, and it provides good targeting since you can contact influencers in the specific niche you chose.

The method is to set up a squeeze page you can use for collecting email addresses; you can then use them for setting up your list and selling to them down the line.

He also explains how you can reach out to those influencers and what you should do after you contact them. Pricing has a broad spectrum, though. It can be as cheap as $20, but it can also climb all the way to over $100.

Tools

Several of the tools offered aren’t really tools. Godaddy is just a website, and they also recommend software that’s too expensive for most beginners like Camtasia or their Clickbank Builder.

You can use cheaper alternatives like Jing instead of Camtasia if you don’t need long videos or Canva, whose free version is excellent for your purposes. The split-testing program recommended is also too expensive when you can get a membership on Thrive for less than half.

It’s the same for most (if not all) of the tools they advice. There’s always a free or cheaper alternative that can do the same or even more.

Clickbank University 2.0 Pros & Cons

[pros-cons]

Personal Experience with Clickbank University 2.0

I will detail my personal experience on each category to help you out.

Affiliate training summary

As you can expect from the duration of each “week”, the training is too general, and you get a lot of theory and too little practice or examples. Besides, everything is too outdated. This was a huge disappointment, and to say it shocked me would be an understatement.

If you have a free day, you can finish the 8 weeks (that’s 2 months, mind you) in a day. In fact, you can finish it on a regular day by watching a bit in the morning, during breaks, and finishing it before going to bed.

Vendor Section

If you feel more interested about having your own products, then you’ll definitely find more success through this section than those sticking to the affiliate class. The training is very good, and it covers virtually everything you need to know about creating your product. A lot of modules pass the 50-minute mark, and all of them are longer than 20 minutes.

While it focuses on Clickbank, the knowledge works for most other platforms.

My only complaint here is the lack of practical examples. It’s still mostly theory, so you’ll have to figure out things yourself applying the knowledge you got here. Nevertheless, creating your product is mostly on you, and you should be fine if you stick to these lessons.

While you should always look to expand your knowledge, and it’s a good idea to look up other resources on page building and the like, this training is almost the only thing you need.

Overall, I’m really satisfied with this section; you’ll definitely be ready to start after you’re done with it.

Traffic Section

The methods are viable, but some of the training, especially the webinars, are confusing to newcomers and fairly outdated anyways.

You get nothing on SEO, and that’s one of the best ways to get traffic today. You probably even got to this review thanks to SEO optimization.

Basically, all modules need updates and actual training, not simply grabbing a webinar and have it as part of your course. You should also get more traffic methods, and the claim of leaving out stuff for the sake of students is just a weak excuse.

Tools

After that Clickbank Builder mishap at the beginning, I thought they’d have more tools made by themselves in this section. I wanted to give them a second chance, but that wasn’t the case.

Their approach is just to recommend random tools with a short introduction on each of them. While I agree with some of the choices, which I use myself, the “Toolkit” title is definitely misleading, but that may just be me nitpicking.

I’ll be honest, the whole section for vendors is outstanding. It has great training and more than enough knowledge for you to start your business with the right foot. The only issue is the requirements before you can even consider going that way.

The rest of the course is simply a huge let down.

The affiliate section is the complete opposite of the impression left by the vendors. It lacks a lot of details paramount for a successful affiliate marketer, and I simply can’t tell you you’ll succeed from this course without feeling guilty.

You need practical training when it comes to affiliate marketing: examples, at least one case study, etc. Besides, nearly all the content on the affiliate training is stuff you can find for free with a quick Google search or on YouTube.

Similarly, the “Toolkit” and traffic sections were the final letdown. The former is just a list of tools recommended by the creators, and the latter is a bunch of random videos with a lot of relevant content left out for no reason.

The worst part is that the best content are the webinars, and they’re noticeably outdated. The same happens with most of the course as well.

To summarize, if you’re in just for the vendors section, the I’d say go for it. For the rest, just skip this course.

Clickbank University 2.0 Scam?

Nope, Clickbank University 2.0 is not a scam however, there are definitely better courses out there you can get like eCom Elites.

Is there a Discount Code?

There is no discount/coupon for Clickbank University 2.0 course.

There are other sites claiming they either have Clickbank University 2.0 Coupon or Clickbank University 2.0 Discount but, this is definitely not true. Also, Clickbank University 2.0 Nulled or Clickbank University 2.0 Free is not a thing.

Clickbank University 2.0 Final Verdict

There’s a couple of things that may get you turned off: upsells. Well, read below.

They’ll try to sell you their own builder for a whopping $594, and it’s little more than a really expensive builder for landing pages. It’s best if you skip that.

You can get much better software for less than half that price from the catalogue of WordPress builders. My personal favorite is Thrive Architect, and it’ll only net you $67 for one website. That’s more than $500 you’re saving.

The second upsell really annoyed me. They try to get you to pay $97 to get “more advanced” content, but why wouldn’t you get that for the monthly $47 you’re already paying? Why not round it up a bit and offer the rest? It’s just unnecessary.

Apart from the above, the course lacks actionable steps. They tell you what to do, but don’t tell you how to do it.

Now I have personally bought a ton of affiliate marketing courses out there. I even review a lot of them on my blog. Generally, these gurus try to sell you a lifestyle of getting rich and successful that’s why they charge a ridiculous amount for the information they sell.

Their courses typically aren’t even comprehensive at all. They focus all their efforts trying to market their course so, they can make more money from course sales.

I do however think that affiliate marketing courses are worth it if they are good. They will save you a ton of time and hassle that’s why I highly recommend a solid affiliate marketing course.

I have been doing affiliate marketing for a while now, and I have started seeing consistent income coming in after taking Frank’s course. Because before I would make 1 or 2 sales here and there. Not only that, I have actually lost a lot of money on running paid ads for my affiliate offers. This is why a course is so necessary, I would have saved a ton of time and money had I just spent some money on a solid course.

If you want to make consistent long term money which is NOT a get rich quick scheme then I highly recommend you to check out this course called Savage Affiliates. (I did a review on this, make sure you read it!)

It’s by Franklin Hatchett who has been doing affiliate marketing for like 8-9+ years.

Now, this is not another expensive garbage guru course. It’s one of the best & most affordable affiliate marketing course out there.
