eCom Domination Review (James Beattie Course)
Could this be really true? Is it as easy as James tells us it is? Is it worthy of taking the course and spending $6,000 to learn Dropshipping from his strategies and tactics?
So, don´t stop reading, and let´s figure out what it’s all about this course.
Who knows? Maybe you are $6,000 away to be the next millionaire of your town with no effort, or maybe you are the next dumb paying for an expensive course to go straight towards bankruptcy.
eCom Domination Pros & Cons
[pros-cons]What is eCom Domination?
eCom Domination is an online course developed by James Beattie, a popular YouTuber who creates content related to dropshipping through Shopify.
It’s one of the most advertised dropshipping courses released by him, and it looks to teach you the techniques and steps necessary to create your own dropshipping business on the popular Shopify platform.
The course is divided among 9 sections on the Teachables platform that serves as the foundation for most of the dropshipping courses existing today. Each section is taught weekly, so the overall duration would be 9 weeks.
The modules begin with the steps to create your own store before introducing you to choosing products in the right way. It then goes into marketing through several methods before finishing on how to manage and scale your business’ operations.
Make sure you read the entire review to make an informed decision if eCom Domination by Justin Woll is right for you or not!
Who is eCom Domination for?
As already stated repeatedly—and as noticeable on the titles of its weeks—the eCom Domination course was designed with complete beginners as its target audience.
Note that, when I say “beginners,” I mean complete beginners: those who have no idea regarding how to create their stores nor what they want to sell.
The course works as an introduction and “for dummies” manual on how to set up your first dropshipping store on the Shopify platform. Here, you’ll receive information and tips on how to set up your store, how to customise it, how to choose a product, and how to market it.
It’s important to note that another reason why this course is better suited for beginners is that experienced members will find a lot of the information redundant. Primarily, sections number 1, 3, and 9 will be things you already know.
Even more so, if you already have a store running and look to scale it, you’ll pretty much be paying $6,000 for 4 sections, give or take.
Who is James Beattie, The Founder of eCom Domination?
OK, this needs a small clarification. Googling his name will actually bring you results related to a football player. That’s not the guy behind this.
James Beattie is a YouTuber from Ireland who creates dropshipping-related content related to the Shopify platform. He’s currently the CEO of eCom insiders—as well as its only employee—and the owner of a YouTube channel possessing about 30,000 subscribers.
He primarily talks about strategies for dropshipping, like many other “gurus”. However, unlike many other “gurus”, he does show screenshots and over-the-shoulder takes of the earnings of his stores.
There’s a slightly “odd” fact about said earnings: the stores show their income in USD despite him being Irish and likely based somewhere in the UK.
His claims include running several million-dollar-earning eCommerce stores and earning over 2 million USD in 14 months using nothing but eCommerce.
What is Included in eCom Domination?
If you want insight into the contents themselves, then this is the section for you.
1. Creating Your Store.
It teaches you how to create your online store on Shopify through 8 modules.
It opens up introducing you to the dropshipping business model before going into store building, payment processors, and shipping.
Halfway through, you learn about managing products and orders before closing with customer support.
2. Product Researching and Testing.
This is an expansion of the previous week, teaching you about product research and getting suppliers.
James provides you with the research approach used by him, which touches on ePacket deliveries and shipping times.
It touches on how to automate product research and how to validate your products. It recommends AliExpress for finding suppliers and also teaches you how to spy on your competitors.
3. Facebook Ad Fundamentals.
By this point, you should already have a working store and are looking to attract customers.
This section is an overview of the Facebook platform for advertising and provides the basics of advertising on it. The last module closes with how to analyse your Facebook Ads results.
4. Facebook Ad Advanced.
Here’s where the course goes in-depth with the use of Facebook Ads. It touches on scaling, audiences, retargeting strategies, and a couple of other tactics.
This is actually an interesting section with some good content and tips.
5. Email Marketing.
This section lasts for four modules and teaches you how to build a loyal base of customers through email marketing.
Among the points we have an explanation of email marketing, setting up cart abandonment sequences, nurturing new customers, and even advanced tricks he’s learned on his own during his ventures.
6. Alternative Traffic Sources.
This is a general section on how to gain customers without using Facebook Ads.
It includes four videos teaching you about leveraging Instagram. That is, from setting up an account to contacting influencers and growing your Instagram.
It closes with four videos on search engines and YouTube as a tool for gaining customers.
7. Managing Operations.
This week, you learn about outsourcing and reducing your workload in general.
Four videos make up this unit and each teaches you a different topic: building teams, managing cash flow, fulfilling bulk orders, and financial engineering for your business.
This week has some nice strategies for making your business more efficient on its own but lacks real steps to getting virtual assistants.
8. Moving To The Next Level.
This week has only one lesson about building your brand and how important it is.
Sadly, this module feels too much like filler content. Your store brand mostly grows naturally with time and as more customers come to it.
Besides, finding good YouTube videos about building brands isn’t hard at all.
9. 7-Figure Mindset.
This is more of a motivational section than anything else.
It makes some good points through its videos about improving yourself and your productivity, developing daily routines, and that kind of content.
It can be an entertaining module, but dropshipping is completely absent here.
10. BONUS: Case Studies.
Four case studies are offered as bonus content, and they’re about scaling Facebook Ads.
While it’s an important topic for any business, four videos on the same subject are too much—especially when you leave out stuff like Search Engine Optimisation.
Personal Experience With eCom Domination
As I said, this course is aimed at complete beginners, which makes you think about why it costs $6,000.
Now, let’s set the price aside for a moment.
The course is a complete overview of how to build a dropshipping business, which already should tell you that you won’t learn much if you have experience.
Regarding the content, I could pick up a couple of tips, especially from the advanced Facebook Ads and outsourcing weeks. Note that by picking up a couple of tips I mean literally learning a few tips from the hours of video lessons contained within these modules.
When you spend $6,000 in a single module (which is a bit more than the total sum of the stuff I actually learned), there’s little you can say that may entice anyone else to try it out.
Also, it may be that I’m fairly experienced on the subject, but many of the lessons also seemed to repeat themselves to me. For example, the week about building your brand often repeats (albeit paraphrased) many of the tips already given on the two Facebook Ads sections and the email marketing one as well.
Last but not least, the case studies.
Yes, it’s very important to understand how to take advantage (and how others have taken advantage) of Facebook Ads, especially given its importance for eCommerce.
However, is it really necessary to dedicate 4 whole videos to it?
Even worse, is an extra Facebook Ad video more important than knowing how to apply SEO to your store or how to produce quality copywriting pieces?
eCom Domination Scam?
Nope, eCom Domination is not a scam however, there are definitely better courses out there you can get like eCom Elites.
Is there a Discount Code?
There is no discount/coupon for James Beattie’s eCom Domination course.
There are other sites claiming they either have eCom Domination Coupon or eCom Domination Discount but, this is definitely not true. Also, eCom Domination Nulled or eCom Domination Free is not a thing.
Ecom Domination Final Verdict
Beginners will definitely acquire good knowledge from this course, but it’s by no means worth $6,000.
Additionally, “good knowledge” doesn’t—by any means—save this from being incomplete knowledge. Not only did it left SEO away, but it also briefly touches on topics that should definitely be analysed deeper.
That’s worsened when you remember that there’s no private group nor channel to contact other members or James themselves. In fact, reaching out to James is really difficult, and it seems like commenting on his YouTube videos is the best choice (which doesn’t say much).
My conclusion? Take several thousand (and then some hundreds) of Dollars out of its price, and this course could compete with the rest, but as is, it’s really hard to recommend it to someone.
eCom Domination Alternative
Now I have personally bought a ton of dropshipping courses out there. I even review a lot of them on my blog. Generally, these gurus try to sell you a lifestyle of getting rich and successful that’s why they charge a ridiculous amount for the information they sell.
Their courses typically aren’t even comprehensive at all. They focus all their efforts trying to market their course so, they can make more money from course sales.
I do however think that dropshipping courses are worth it if they are good. They will save you a ton of time and hassle that’s why I highly recommend a solid dropshipping course.
I have been dropshipping for a long time and I have built profitable stores (I currently do affiliate marketing though) and I highly recommend you check out this course called eCom Elites. (I did a review on this, make sure you read it!)
It’s by Franklin Hatchett who has been doing dropshipping WAY before it was famous.
This course definitely has helped me increase my eCommerce income before. However, I don’t do dropshipping anymore because I am focused on affiliate marketing.
Now, this is not another expensive garbage guru course. It’s one of the best & most affordable dropshipping / eCommerce course out there.
