They’ve been a fundamental marketing strategy for a few years now, and many platforms have appeared to cover for that necessity. It’s definitely not easy to choose one for yourself among the dozens of unique options, especially with how much can cost you to make a mistake.

That’s exactly why I’ve made this article; I know how frustrating it can get, and I might as well put some of my own experience and research skills to help anyone out. We’ll take a look at 7 webinar solutions and a few free options for those on a budget.

If you’ve never hosted webinars before, not knowing what makes a platform good for your needs is overwhelming, to say the least. Some don’t even offer free trials, and the best-case scenario is you manage to get a refund after hours of arguing with customer support.

That’s why today’s list focuses not only on naming the platforms and how much they cost. I’ll take you through their most important features, what you get with each pricing tier, and even what I personally don’t like about the platform, so you know what to look for.

WebinarJam

I’ll start with the best out of the bunch for me. The team behind WebinarJam is the same one behind Kartra, and if you know what’s the former, then you also know this is a platform to be trusted.

It spans dozens of thousands of users, and I’m yet to find a truly negative review. Naturally, it has a lot to do with all the features it offers, and it’s compatible with many platforms as well as YouTube streaming.

However, the main advantage for WebinarJam is the sheer size of the webinars you can create. You have access to rooms for hundreds of people, and even the basic account offers more attendees than many of its competitors’ highest subscription tiers.

What do you get?

Webinar is a very intuitive platform, and even complete beginners will feel at home after a short while studying the interface. That’s because its UI makes it easy to find any feature you need, and webinars are ready for launch in a few minutes.

What makes WebinarJam even faster is the library filled with templates available for your webinars and registration. You can also broadcast your webinars to YouTube once they’re ready.

You’re also free to replay previous webinars during any live event for reference, and they can also be shown on your home page. That’s one of the several engagement features available at the platform, and webinar closures are another great feature. You can create closing section for your webinars before broadcasting to ensure your conclusion is flawless; you can keep these endings and use them on all of your events.

Speaking of conclusion, you can also monitor your webinar’s performance to know what went wrong. WebinarJam comes with excellent tracking and analytics features.

Another great feature of WebinarJam is the ability to feature attendees during your webinar. They can come up on stage and share their own opinions and testimonials, just like an added presenter.

It all comes together in a great package that’s excellent for both large and small companies, regardless of experience. You can even host paid webinars and turn them into a product.

What I don’t like

My main issue with WebinarJam is how it requires EverWebinar if you want to host evergreen webinars. That’s an additional payment not everyone might be willing to make. Speaking of money, the premium plan can be quite expensive, and webinar polls could be more comprehensive.

How much is it?

WebinarJam comes with 3 account types, each one with its own features and yearly price:

  1. The Basic account is $499. It offers unlimited webinars for up to 500 attendees and 2 presenters. They can last for 2 hours.
  2. The Professional account is $699. It increases the previous plan to 2,000 attendees, 4 presenters, and 3 hours per webinar. It comes with a panic button to transfer your audience to a new room in case of emergency and permanent live rooms.
  3. The last account is Enterprise for $999. You get 6 presenters and 5,000 attendees this time, and your webinars can last for up to 4 hours. You also get a control center to make sure your team can monitor the event without distracting you.

You can try the platform for 14 days by paying $1.

Demio

Demio is another platform aimed to make webinars a lot more accessible for entrepreneurs, and it has grown an impressive user base since its launch back in 2014.

Besides being a very beginner-friendly option, it’s also earned a lot of praise thanks to its comprehensive analytics features, with plenty of advanced options to show you how your business is doing.

It’s an excellent platform for both webinars and courses. It’s a favorite among people focused on generating leads.

What do you get?

Demio also has an amazing interface for newcomers, and creating your first webinar is a breeze thanks to it. You don’t need to download anything, either, since you can just use it from your browser.

Registration pages are also customizable to suit your liking. You can embed them into any website you own to leverage the traffic from your main site without actually taking them outside.

Advanced accounts come with several automation features, and they let you turn your past webinars into automated ones. In all webinars, you can display polls, CTAs and handouts along with the integrated live chat.

When it comes to analytics, you can study how your webinars do and how engaged your audience is. This extends to your registration pages, so you have insights into all stages of your event.

Their depth doesn’t mean you need to be an expert to read them, either. Demio offers several tutorials to teach you how to use every feature in the platform.

If you need any features outside of the main package, then Demio supports several integrations like GetResponse and Convertkit, plus the huge list from its Zapier support.

What I don’t like

Besides your registration forms, you can’t use Demio on your website. Everyone needs to access your events through the main platform. Restricting automated events to more expensive accounts can also frustrate users.

How much is it?

Just like most platforms, there are 3 monthly plans with discounts if billed annually. When paid annually, they’re as follows:

  1. The Starter account is $34 monthly. You can host webinars for up to 50 people with 1 host.
  2. The Growth account costs $69 every month. Besides all previous features, it increases your room size to 150 attendees and adds automated events.
  3. The last account tier is Business, for $163 monthly. You can now host webinars with 4 hosts for 500 people, and you also get an account representative to provide optimal customer support.

You can try out the platform freely for 2 weeks.

GoToMeeting

GoToMeeting is actually the sister platform for GoToWebinar, another webinar solution. However, the latter is quite outdated by today standards, so I decided to list GoToMeeting instead, which has surpassed it predecessor.

It originated as a conference platform for business teams. Once marketers realized its extensive set of features, it quickly became a favorite among webinar solutions.

With plenty of administration features, GoToMeeting is a perfect webinar option for educational businesses and teams.

What do you get?

What’s great about GoToMeeting is that you get all of the tools you need both in your computer and mobile device. You can schedule and join events seamlessly, and it’s compatible with virtually all modern phones and OS.

Phone users can simply download the official app from their respective app stores. Once that’s done, they’re fully capable of hosting webinars and meetings, which can also be scheduled with calendar apps like Google Calendar.

Building on its mobile focus, the “Call-Me” feature lets you call anyone you want to join your event. If you forget about an upcoming meeting or webinar, the host can simply call you and you’ll be there.

It’s a very affordable platform with plenty of educational resources, so beginners will have no problems creating their own events. Each feature, from registration form to drawing boards, comes with its own tutorial.

What I don’t like

Like several other options, you can’t integrate GoToMeeting with a separate website. This problem also adds to the fact that older devices won’t have access to all of the features available, and other factors like bandwidth requirements and stability can be a problem depending on your location and hardware.

How much is it?

GoToMeeting has 3 different plans, and what I really like about them is—besides the prices—how there aren’t many differences between them other than the amount of participants per room.

  1. Interestingly, the Professional account is the basic plan, and it costs $12 monthly for a 150-attendee room.
  2. The Business account costs $16, and it has room for 250 people.
  3. The last option is to call customer support and negotiate an Enterprise account. There’s no fixed price, but it supports up to 3,000 people.

Naturally, there’s also a free trial and discounts for annual payments.

WebinarNinja

WebinarNinja is easily one of the most popular platforms in this list, and that has a lot to do with how simple and swift it is. Just like most options here, it doesn’t require any downloads, either.

WebinarNinja isn’t a newcomer to the industry, and it has gone through its fair share of updates to make it a lot more competitive. Of course, there are still some glitches to be solved in future updates, but it’s still among the best in development support.

What do you get?

Sticking to the simplicity focus, WebinarNinja comes with a straightforward interface without too many elements clogging the screen. You can navigate seamlessly through the dashboard, and the same goes for creating webinars; it can take seconds for experienced users.

You have plenty of engagement features as well, including screen sharing, slides, user polls, and customizable live chats to help you interact with your audience a lot better. You’re also free to display special offers at any point in your event, so you can score some extra sales while you’re at it.

Your pages are also completely customizable, and they’re perfect to help you work on your branding.

Speaking of branding, WebinarNinja is also a very flexible solution when it comes to marketing. You can use its extensive customization to strengthen your brand and entice your audience towards conversion. If you need anything else, you can always integrate it with MailChimp, Convertkit, and even Zapier.

WebinarNinja also includes one feature that hasn’t been available up to this point as well: website integration. You can broadcast your events in any website you own, which is enough to help you decide.

Other amazing features include webinar automation, multiple webinars at the same time, and others you’ve already seen previously.

What I don’t like

My main issue with WebinarNinja is how glitchy it is. It’s actually very similar to the rest of our other entries in this list, but with so many upgrades, you’d expect a lot less glitches. While none of them are too problematic, custom website integration can be messy at times.

How much is it?

Like our previous contestant, WebinarNinja doesn’t have too many differences when it comes to account tiers. When billed annually, they cost:

  1. $39 monthly for the Starter Plan. You have room for up to 100 people and both live and automated webinars.
  2. $79 monthly for the Pro plan, and you can run webinars series and summits as well as track your ads on Facebook.
  3. $129 for the Growth plan, and you can host hybrid webinars; these are basically live webinars with the option to automate portions via pre-recorded segments. Room size is now 500 people.
  4. $199 for the Power plan is basically the same as the Growth plan with twice the amount of attendees.

All plans support unlimited attendees for automated webinars. You can try the platform for 2 weeks as well as take a demo tour around the platform.

BigMarker

BigMarker is another one of the eldest platforms in this list, and after a decade from its release, it has grown to be a standard for what webinar platforms should be. From its home features to results, it’s some of the highest quality you can find.

It also brings the entire webinar suite: conferences, whiteboards, slides, chat polls, and automation. It’s one of those platforms that might not be 100% what you need, yet it’s extremely hard to go wrong with it.

What do you get?

BigMarker is another browser tool, so there’s no need to download anything. You just need to enter the URL and start creating the type of event you want. You can create live and automated events as well as automated webinars and series.

Despite the amount of features, it’s still a very straightforward process to create your webinar, mainly thanks to a great interface. You can customize your pages and webinar, including branding it with your own images.

You can study different statistics, including user engagement and poll results. Polls are excellent to increase engagement during your events.

Like other platforms, you can also broadcast your webinars on YouTube, and BigMarker adds Facebook Live to the package. If you have any of the 2 platforms for your business, you can strengthen your branding even more.

Video and audio quality is also really high, and you can integrate BigMarker with email marketing platforms. You can also sell to a maximum of 1,000 attendees for every webinar room.

What I don’t like

BigMarker is somewhat of a premium option, with the cheapest plan already starting at $79 every month. Customer support could be better, too.

How much is it?

You have 4 options when it comes to paying for a BigMarker account:

  1. The Starter account costs $79 monthly as we mentioned. It gives you access to all the webinars you want, both live and automated. Each webinar can house 100 attendees and 1 host.
  2. The Elite account costs $159 monthly. It brings the same features as the Starter account for 500 attendees and 2 hosts. Additional features include evergreen webinars and series.
  3. The Summit account is yet another size upgrade for $299 monthly. It supports twice as many attendees and hosts as the Elite plan.
  4. The last plan is White Label, and it’s the Enterprise option. There’s no price tag, and you’ll have to contact the support team to negotiate rates, features, and branding.

BigMarker also comes with a free trial for a week and a demo tour.

EasyWebinar

Despite its name, EasyWebinar isn’t entirely focused on intuitiveness. Don’t get me wrong; it’s a very straightforward platform, perfect for beginners. However, what really sets EasyWebinar apart is how easy it is for making sales and strengthening customer relationships and your brand.

In fact, EasyWebinar is the standard for entrepreneurs who want to use webinars as another channel to make sales. True to its form, it also comes with some of the most advanced tracking features in this list.

What do you get?

EasyWebinar lets you create several types of webinars: from live to automated webinars as well as on-demand events.

Now, the home dashboard for EasyWebinar is quite simple, but things change once you start to set up your webinar. EasyWebinar becomes a very sophisticated platform once you start editing your registration page and until you finish.

Curiously enough, you can also create funnel pages to boost your webinar conversions. It’s a very similar process to the rest of your webinar.

EasyWebinar also comes with its own spotlight feature for you to make a presenter out of any attendee. There’s also live streaming for both YouTube and Facebook.

Of course, you can display special offers during your webinar as well, and you can track everything via the analytics tool. You can even segment your audience for better tracking and analyze how much engagement your CTAs received.

Other features include automated notifications and recaps, replays, and an excellent customer support team.

What I don’t like

As you might have guessed, my main problem with EasyWebinar is that its design interface. Setting up events simply feels like a hassle when compared to other entries in this list, and that has a lot to do because of the fact that EasyWebinar lacks a visual editor like most competitors.

Another minor issue is that it’s on the higher end of the price spectrum, but that’s to be expected with advanced platforms like this one.

How much is it?

EasyWebinar comes in 3 forms:

  1. The Standard account is $78 monthly, and you can host all the automated webinars you want, with a 100 attendees limit for live webinars.
  2. Pro users pay $129 monthly. Besides all previous features, you get custom fields for your registration forms and customer support via phone. Webinar room size is now 500 attendees.
  3. The last plan is Enterprise, and it’s $499 monthly. This plan is a lot better for larger companies due to its room size for 2,000 people.

When it comes to actual features, there aren’t many differences between the 3 tiers. You can also try out the Standard and Pro plans for 14 days, but the Enterprise subscription offers only a demo you can schedule.

EverWebinar

EverWebinar is a special entry on this list because it’s very different from the other options. That’s because it’s not a live webinar platform. It’s also WebinarJam’s sister tool, and it’s basically the automated extension for evergreen webinars.

Evergreen webinars are basically pre-recorded webinars played for a live audience. It’s different from a hybrid or automated webinar in that the entire experience is the same as a live one: polls, chats, etc.—yet you never actually come on-stage.

It’s basically a workaround for issues related to live webinars: mostly bandwidth issues resulting in glitches like poor quality and slow loading time.

EverWebinar lets you create real-time schedules, complete with reminders, for your events. The only difference is that you’ll play a recording for everyone instead of showing up live.

What do you get?

EverWebinar comes with most features from WebinarJam, but focused on evergreen webinars. It focuses on providing a live-like experience for your attendees.

You get the same scheduling tool as WebinarJam, so you’re free to schedule these webinars whenever you want. You can schedule the same webinar recording for several different dates.

Inside the webinar, you can enable different live chat features. The most prominent is email alerts whenever someone makes a question. It informs you so that you can answer as soon as possible, just as if you were there reading the chat.

You can also display pop-up offers during your event. This lets you collect leads and sell your products thanks do the different integrations supported by the platform.

What I don’t like

First off, I’ll repeat a very similar dislike from the ones I had about WebinarJam: you need to pay more for the full webinar toolkit you get from other platforms. If you want to host live webinars as well, you’ll have to pay for WebinarJam.

Also similar to WebinarJam, the reports system could be improved, but that’s minor compared to the previous problem. Other inconveniences include how it’s not optimal for active marketing campaigns and how setting up time zones can be confusing.

How much is it?

This is another aspect in which EverWebinar is quite special. It has 3 pricing options—just like most platforms—yet they all come from the same features. The only difference is how you pay for it and how much.

You can pay either every 2 years, every year, or 3 times per year; it’ll cost you $799, $499, and $199 respectively. It’s the same discount for longer commitment as other platforms, yet all plans are the same in the end.

Do I really need to pay?

Of course, not everyone has the money—or the desire—to pay for one of those platforms right away. That’s completely understandable if you’re yet to run your first webinar.

That’s why I’ve compiled a few free options outside of the free trials from most platforms. While these are definitely not as good as the other platforms or any paid plan, they’re more than enough if your needs aren’t too complex, yet you still want to host live events.

Livestorm

Livestorm is easily the best free webinar option available right now, and it’s a very good alternative overall to any of the other tools. If you don’t need a very advanced toolkit, then Livestorm should be enough for a good while.

You have scheduling tools with calendar integration as well as solid audio and video quality for a great live experience.

While its free plan isn’t as comprehensive as the paid subscriptions, you can still run all the live webinars you want with basic analytics features.

The only issue with the free version is that you can only run webinars for 20 minutes. They’re great, and the basic set of features is enough for a good event, but the duration is definitely a handicap worth noting.

Other issues include lower conversion rates in your landing pages, and customization is fairly limited. However, it’s free for as long as you want.

Google Hangouts

Right away, you probably already know that this is a meeting and conference solution instead of a webinar one. However, there’s nothing stopping you from fashioning a webinar out of these features.

Besides, it’s available for virtually any platform, and you probably already have a Gmail account, which means you can start using it today. It also integrates with the email service and Google Calendar, so you have the fundamentals fully covered.

If you have solid internet, then you can host perfectly functional—albeit quite basic—webinars anytime you want. You can have 100 participants in a single room, and both you and your attendees can invite other people to the event.

The most important disadvantages are related to its bandwidth consumption. If you don’t have a strong internet connection, you’re likely to run into glitches as well as audio and video quality issues.

Of course, it also lacks engagement features from the other platforms on this list, but you don’t have any limits for your webinar length. Therefore, it’s a worthy competitor to Livestorm.

Zoom (kind of)

Zoom has received a lot of fame lately, especially this year with the current health crisis. It’s a fully-featured package for hosting meetings and webinars, and it’s very intuitive, especially with its eternal free trial.

However, the free trial is for Zoom. While there’s also Zoom Webinars, it’s a paid add-on to the paid plans, so I’ll focus on this free option. 

With the lifetime trial for Zoom, you can host meetings and webinars for up to 100 participants and for 40 minutes. While still limited, it’s twice as long as Livestorm, and I’ve seen people host great webinars with the basic Zoom package.

You have several standard features like a live chat, transcripts, and even analytics and webinar recording.

However, it still requires lots of bandwidth, but that’s not the main issue. Attendees need to download the Zoom app if they want to access your webinars, and that’s an extra step you’d be surprised how hard it is to convince others to take.

Conclusion

My closing recommendation is to try out as many free options and trials as you can before you spend a single penny. I’ve designed this article to help you find which platform is better-suited for what you want to do, but I can’t guess the needs of everyone reading this.

So, take notes of the ones that caught your eye and try them out. If you feel 100% happy with one, stick to it. If you didn’t like it, go to the next one. There’s nothing to lose.
