Will Haimerl, a self-proclaimed pay-per-click (PPC) master says that he launched his course, Online Store Accelerator to teach people how to they can use Google Shopping Ads to boost their online sales in a scenario where Facebook Ads have been a little inconsistent when it comes to traffic generation.
There hasn’t been an insane level of enthusiasm about this course among digital marketers, but you do get to see a few positive words about it here and there. So, did this course fail to get the recognition it deserved or did it get its rightful due? I decided to find out and am here to tell you if it is worth spending $997 on this course.

Good for beginners
The course just provides a basic, high-level understanding of the most common online marketing techniques. If you are looking to enter the online marketing space or have just created your online store and need a beginner’s guide, you can derive some value from it. It will help you get familiar with the basics and build your foundation, which you can strengthen later. In the walkthrough video of the course, Haimerl says “Are we newbie friendly? 100% Yes” and he does live up to that.
At $997 if you pay at once, and $1164 if you opt for the monthly payment method, Online Store Accelerator is exorbitantly priced. In return for the basic content that this course offers, which most experienced marketers would already be familiar with, you will not get the bang for your buck. Paying that amount for a beginner’s course, especially for one which primarily focuses on the age-old advertising technique of Google Shopping Ads will definitely make you regret your decision. There are several free or moderately priced marketing courses with better content.
No one-on-one support
If you enrol for this course, the least you would (and should) expect is personal attention and exclusivity. Haimerl manages to disappoint here as well. Almost all other instructors who charge you this dearly, offer you personal, one-on-one email support along with access to a closed Facebook group where you can collaborate with other learners. With Online Store Accelerator’s enrollment, you just get the latter. Sure, Haimerl is a part of that group as well (that’s the least he should do!), but you do not know how frequently, if at all will he be available to take your queries up
No demonstration on Shopify or Woocommerce
If you are rolling out a course to cater to a wider audience, it goes without saying that you need to provide something that people that the masses can relate with. Haimerl uses Gearbubble Pro (where he works) instead of Shopify as the e-commerce platform to demonstrate the techniques and simply claims that the course will work for Shopify, Woocommerce and any other online store platform that you can get a product feed for. These two are the most popular e-commerce platforms and Gearbubble is not even in the top 10. This way, Haimerl manages to promote his workplace but doesn’t do justice to most of his students.
Not many would have noticed this, but Haimerl tries a little too hard to sell the course to you that it almost seems that he, himself is trying hard to prove its worth. If you watch the Walkthrough video, you will notice he mentions things like “I think you should do this”, “I have put my heart and soul into this” etc. Even the description says, “This is a masterpiece, of course, I am offering. It’s awesome.” Given that the course has basic, mediocre content, these are lofty claims to make. If you watch the course video titles in the walkthrough video, you will get an idea of why this course isn’t worth it and why Haimerl has to sing his own praises instead of letting the audience decide. Sadly, his work doesn’t speak for him.
What is Online Store Accelerator Work?
As you would know by now, Online Store Accelerator is an online course on diversification of traffic sources and primarily focuses on Google Shopping Ads. It comprises 70+ videos and claims that they demonstrate how to create an online store, how to market it using Google Shopping Ads and Influencer Marketing. The course has a few supposed “bonuses” to it as well. These include retargeting potential customers through Facebook Dynamic Product Ads to get them back to your store and then following up through email marketing to get repeat customers on “autopilot.” This way, he claims to embed a full marketing system into the course.
You get to see a walkthrough video of the program, and it helps you get an insight into what you are signing up for.
Honestly, even the sales page of the course is not designed well. It is basic and has nothing intriguing that would pique the interest of even someone who is looking for this very content. And then, at the bottom of the page, you see the price which is so high that it immediately puts you in two minds.

Who is Online Store Accelerator for?
With its same-old, mostly basic content, Online Store Accelerator is suitable for newbies as Haimerl himself claims in the walkthrough video.
It is not meant for even slightly tenured digital marketers. They can breeze through the course in less than a day and will end up with a blank expression.
Who is Will Haimerl, The Founder of Online Store Accelerator?
Will Haimerl is an online marketer who started in the field of digital marketing in 2007. He is an expert in Google Ads (formerly called Google Adwords). After a few years of experience in the field, he started his own website ppc-coach.com, where he gives coaching on a wide variety of topics on digital marketing. He is still very much active in the space and works at Gearbubble.com. His boss, Don Wilson, founder of Gearbubble.com says that Haimerl has consistently been one of their top sellers and is a leading print on demand marketer, world-class coach and Facebook / Google shopping ads expert.
One of the less known facts about him is that he is as much into fitness as he is into digital marketing. He lost 100 lbs in 106 days and did not shy away from sharing his secrets with his very dear internet community on thatweightlossguy.com.
What is Included in Online Store Accelerator?
This course has eight modules. I have analyzed each one of them in detail for you.
Module 1: Welcome Videos
Just like any other online course, this is a meet-and-greet section which gives you a high-level overview of what you’ve signed up for and helps you set up other logistics, like the Facebook group. There is also some pep-talk in a 15-minute long Mindset video which sort of works as a motivational boost. All in all, this is a pretty standard section.
Module 2: Getting Set Up
This module starts with explaining the basics of online stores and covers topics like how to identify a niche for your store, how to setup a Google ads account, how to come up with and verify a domain name etc. Pretty basic, available online for free. Doesn’t need your money.
Haimerl then goes on to teach you how to set up your store using GearBubble, a lesser known, more expensive and less user-friendly e-commerce platform than Shopify. This might be of no use to you if your website runs on Shopify. Consider this as a promotion of his company and nothing else.
Module 3: Products
This section starts with giving you an insight into two different types of online products – drop shipping and print on demand. It then proceeds to help you understand how you can leverage popular websites like Pinterest, eBay, Aliexpress etc. to find the right products. Note that he only talks about platforms that work with Gearbubble. A lot of general content, even for beginners, is missing here. Towards the end, you get a few tips on designing things yourself or getting them outsourced. That’s no knowledge.
Module 4: Marketing with Google Shopping Ads
This is the lengthiest module of the course as here starts the true focus of the course. Haimerl claims that this is a step-by-step demonstration of how he uses Google Shopping Ads for his stores but the section is not in-depth at all. It is evident that he doesn’t tell you everything he knows about them. The section has 16 videos and there are courses online that take at least 50 videos to explain the concept. Here, there is no word of caution on what to avoid, when to stop campaigns and where to go from here.
Anyway, you still get to learn how the Google Merchant Centre works, and how you can create a product feed to upload and customize on it. You also get an insight into creating and testing various kinds of Google Shopping Ads campaigns.
Module 5: Product Ads Retargeting
This module is labelled as a bonus, and Haimerl gets Facebook Ads into the picture which he was initially avoiding because of their “sketchiness”. You get to learn how you can create ads that pop-up on every social media accounts of the customer who enquired about your product on Google just once or twice.
You also get a few generic, conceptual and logistical, Facebook marketing and retargeting tips, which again are not as detailed as they should be.
Module 6: Free Traffic with Influencer Marketing
Again, a bonus this module first introduces you to influencer marketing and then gives you a few tips and tricks to play around with it. You get to learn how to target influencers on social media, convince them to endorse your products and to maintain a lasting relationship with them. YouTube is flooded with videos on this topic, and they are much more insightful than what Haimerl has to offer.
Module 7: Repeat customers with Email Marketing
Labelled as Bonus#3, this section introduces you to email marketing and tells you how you can connect your online store to MailChimp, a popular email marketing platform to target customers. You get tips on writing emails that convert, and the module ends with helping you create your ongoing email sequence. The section is really short, almost an insult to detailed email marketing courses which offer value and are reasonably priced.
Module 8: Summary
The goodbye section of the course, Summary gives you an overview of whatever little you’ve learned so far, how to proceed and not give up on your goals.
Personal Experience With Online Store Accelerator
I enrolled for this course and feel that it has nothing fresh to offer. The concepts are old and somewhat dated. Sure, diversification of traffic sources is important, but Haimerl doesn’t do a good job of telling you how to do that. Even the few topics that the course covers lack depth. I was disappointed to see what I already knew, much more thoroughly than was explained in the videos. It felt as if I flushed $997 down the drain.
I have gained more knowledge from free online courses and YouTube videos on this topic than this course. It is a dump of generic information with no clear direction or actionable next steps.

Online Store Accelerator is just another online course that even fails to properly educate the newbies in the digital marketing space. It just doesn’t bring out Will Haimerl’s expertise. There’s a lot of valuable content that you can learn online at $997 in your hand. I strongly recommend you to steer clear of this course. You will thank me later!
