Thrive Architect Review

When you’re starting your own website or online business, you’ll eventually come up with the process of making a nice looking page by yourself.

What a surprise you’ll get when you find out it is not as easy as it looks. The frustration that comes from trying to build a decent website could even bring you the idea of hiring a web designer.

Lucky for you, that thought and all the struggle will disappear as you see the new WordPress plugin from Thrive Themes; Thrive Architect might be just what you need.

Sit back, relax, and see what we think about this tool that will help you create a visually pleasant page, saving a lot of time, and at the same time, money.

What is Thrive Architect?

You might have an idea of how working in WordPress is; you might even be a professional on the subject just as you can be a non-experienced user who needs to get a page done as soon as possible.

Thrive Architect is a tool designed specifically to make anyone able to build a professional-looking website. With Thrive Architect, you’ll get a visual page builder plugin made for WordPress on-page developing. Its idea is to give access to a set of tools to build pages as fast as possible.

You have access to an intuitive editor with which you can just drag and drop the elements wherever you want; it makes things far easier than using CSS or HTML.

Some of the things you can get done with Thrive Architect are:

  • Creating a Homepage with Thrive Architect’s pre-designed Templates, giving you the possibility to add Icons, Buttons and Columns as you wish.
  • Build Landing Pages to help grow your mailing list with built-in Lead Generation elements
  • Format Blog Posts with Thrive Architect features, including the Content Boxes and its Styled Lists.
  • With Thrive Architect, you’ll be able to do much more, like Creating Sales Pages, Webinar Pages, Product Launch Pages, and much more.

Building a page with Thrive Architect

When making a page with Thrive Architect, there are two ways to build a page. You can start from zero using a Blank Template as well as you can use a pre-designed Landing Page Template.

Once you decide which template you’ll use, press the Launch Thrive Architect button.

Once Thrive Architect is launched, you’ll be taken to a new window. The default header menu can be found at the top of the Page, along with the page title from the theme you used.

At the right-hand side of the page, press the ‘+’ button icon to open the Thrive Architect menu.

Using the landing page templates

There are hundreds of pre-designed landing page templates available at Thrive Architect and once loaded, they can be published right away.

Once you choose a pre-designed template and have a base from where you can start, you’ll want to edit it to fit your online business. Clicking on the “cloud” button icon will bring a template window.

Landing page template sets

You’ll find Landing Pages in Template Sets, where Thrive groups them. There are more than 40 Landing Page Template Sets available in the Thrive’s library, with many more to be added.

As you go through the library, you’ll see that each set of pages uses the same components on design to create a consistent page that looks and feels comfortable.

To explain it a bit better, take a look at one of Thrive’s latest set: the Atomic. You’ll see how each page has the same branding:

What does the Atomic Template Set feature:

  • Lead Generation Page
  • Confirmation Page
  • 2-Step Lead Generation Page
  • Download Page
  • Video Sales Page
  • Webinar Registration Page
  • Webinar Streaming Page
  • Webinar Replay Page

Customizing templates

Already found a Landing Template that fits your need? Now is the time for you to start customizing it. For this, we’ll be using the WYSIWYG  visual editor.

There are multiple elements that conform a page, and each page needs at least: Heading, Texts, Buttons, Icons, etc. all these elements can be found there. Once you click on them you’ll be shown with all the options of said element in the sidebar menu.

For example, if you want to add a Heading element, you can select the option, and you’ll be shown what you can do to it. You can change the text, alter its layout and position, apply a background style, add a border, and more. Elements are labelled in several places on your screen, this way you’ll not messing with the wrong elements.

Each page you add can be customized in many ways to fit your style and branding. From colors to headings and fonts, every element is fully customizable with just a few clicks.

Once you finish customizing your template, you can save it for further use on other projects.

While the app includes a preview, there is no need to use it, as every change you make is immediately visible on the editing screen, so you can see the changes you make right in front of you.

Thrive Architect works amazingly well with WYSIWYG as a visual editor.

Working with a blank page

If you want your page to have a more original feeling, perhaps you will want to start a page from scratch, starting with a clean canvas. Working with a blank page works well for those who already have an idea in mind for their website or want to go for something similar to another page’s design.

Thrive Architect possesses some of the most powerful and flexible elements for designing your own page. With three of them being

Full-width background

While being a simple element, having a full-width background comes hard to find on many page builders. Lucky for you, this is one of the features on Thrive Architect.

What you’ll want from this section is to hit the “Content covers entire screen width” element; it allows your background to cover the entire page, no matter what WordPress theme you’re using.

When creating a background, you might want to use this option, as well as using an image as a base layer, then applying a solid color layer on top, and you’ll be ready to start adding other elements like text and headings.

For further customization, you’ll be able to add as many layers as you like to create the effect you need. Among all the options available, there are gradient color, patterns, and video background. Each option will give a different and unique feel to your page.

There’s another option available that might catch your attention. If you combine the full-width background section, along with two columns, you will give your page a vertical split-screen feeling to it.

Having this vertical split layout gives you many options to play with, like adding different content elements on each column: fill one column with text, while the other would be filled with images and videos. There is a huge amount of combinations for you to test.

Content Box

The Content Box works as a dual-purpose design element, as it can serve as a content container to hold multiple elements and can be used to highlight important parts of the content.

All you need to do is click on the Content Box, which contains an Icon and a Piece of Text, using its drag-and-drop handle, which works well for moving the Content Box onto the background section.

For further use, you can save a content box as a Content Template, thanks to Thrive Architect’s Rapid Implementation ideology.

Testimonial

The use of testimonials works amazingly well if you want your page to demonstrate social proof. With Thrive Architect, you have more than 30 testimonial templates available to use and customize.

When using a testimonial, you’ll have two columns, one for text, the other one for the image. You can drag-and-drop the column widths to fit both the image and test as you like.

The text column contains two Text or Paragraph elements. Each element contains a different font and size to be customizable as you wish. The image column has three icon or image elements available to be edited.

This template can change the way column, colors, images, icons and many more feels.

Adding lead generation options

One thing almost every landing page has in common is their goal: you want them to generate leads.

With Thrive Architect, you have two options for lead generation to use in your landing page.

Step opt-in

It’s the default Lead Generation method for those who are creating their own landing page. The Lead Generation element can be drag and drop from the sidebar onto the page.

Text fields can be stacked vertically as well as they can be stacked horizontally. Other features like colors and text are totally customizable.

With the Landing Page Template, along with the Lead Generation element, you’ll have something already in place.

Step opt-in with Thrive Lightbox

Thrive Architect offers a second Lead generation method. The 2-Step Opt-in, available with the app is the build-in Thrive Lightbox feature.

All you need to do is see what element you’ll like to be the trigger. Once you make your decision, use the Animation & Action option to invoke a Lightbox. The Button Click can be configured to open the Lightbox with a Zoom effect.

After this, the Landing Page Template will work the same, the Lightbox design can be customized with the visual editor.

Email service integration

After deciding which method you want to use to capture email addresses, you’ll need to connect your email service to the Lead Generation.

Connecting your email service to the Lead Generation with Thrive Architect can be achieved through an API or an HTML Form.

Checking if your page is mobile responsive

Mobile responsiveness is a must now that most internet surfing is done through mobile today. Thrive Architect has three other features to increase the uniqueness of your page and the customer experience.

Preview your page on different screen sizes

With this feature, you can preview your page as if you were navigating on a desktop, tablet or mobile device.

Toggle the visibility of elements and entire content blocks

You can decide if an element or Content Box can be shown or hidden. Perhaps you want an element to be visible on Desktop and Tabled and hidden on Mobile; all of this is possible with this feature.

Tweak every detail

Even the smaller details can be edited with this feature, like the layout and position of the elements.

Thrive Architect brings one of the best experience when it comes to those who browse the internet through mobile devices.

Building Blocks of Thrive Architect

Among all the previous tools, Thrive Architect possesses four more conversion-focused building blocks, which are:

  • Styled Lists
  • Countdown Timers
  • Content Reveal
  • Credit Card Icons

More Components

If you thought that was all, then jokes on you. There are many other components available with Thrive Architect for you to discover, like Post Grid, Social Share, Tables, and more.
