Why Every Blogger Needs a Sales Funnel

Blogging is a fun hobby. But what better than blogging as a hobby? Getting paid to blog! As a full-time blogger who’s managed a life outside of the corporate world to be my boss, I can say I live a life of contentment. The best thing about being my boss is that I get to spend so much time with my loved ones. I don’t need to apply for days off, I take days off whenever I want to! Blogging has also been a very lucrative income, more lucrative than what I expected. I can afford expensive things for my family to keep us comfortable.

However, it wasn’t always the case. Besides putting in the immense effort, time, sweat, and even tears, I was lucky enough to find a secret weapon that boosted my career. I’m talking about sales funnels! And this is what I’ll share with you in this article. My personal blogging experience has led me to where I am today. Looking back, I don’t know where I would be without learning about sales funnels. Please keep reading to learn how I used it to boost my blog!

What is a Sales Funnel

A sales funnel a journey that your customer takes from the moment they come across your brand until the end, which results in a purchase. If a customer purchases a product at the end of the funnel, then it means you successfully got a conversion. Sales funnels are essential as they guarantee an overall pleasant experience towards your brand and products. They’re straightforward to build and customizable for every niche or business. It’s called a funnel because its structured like a funnel, squeezing your readers at the end into paying customers.

Can your blog survive without a sales funnel?

Whether or not you should have a sales funnel in place depends on your goals. Do you want to make a lot of money with your blog? Do you want to increase traffic or multiply your readers? If you answered yes to both these questions, then yes, you need a sales funnel. On the other hand, if you’re happy with just having several readers enjoying your content and generating 0 income, then you can skip this article.

Your blog… on autopilot

One of the best things about implementing a sales funnel is that your blog will be able to run on its own. What this means is that you’ll have more time to put out great content, because that’s what you’re good at. You’ll also have more time to spend on yourself, your family, and friends. But it would help if you also kept in mind that this doesn’t come easy. You must be prepared to put in some hard work at the beginning to build your sales funnel or your first digital product. Once you have these in place, watch the money roll in while you sleep.

How to set up a simple sales funnel for your blog in 20 minutes

You wouldn’t believe how easy it is to implement a sales funnel on your blog. All you have to do is follow the steps below:

Traffic> Landing Page> Email opt-in> Autoresponder> Sale

The amount of traffic represents the number of people visiting your blog. So obviously, the more traffic, the better. If your blog isn’t doing too well, then a sales funnel will make some positive changes. You won’t even need to spend extra costs on advertising to get traffic! Use free methods such as Pinterest marketing, social media marketing, etc.

Landing Page

Your landing page is like the home page of your website. This means you don’t even need a website, to begin with. The landing page does all the work for you! They’re customizable, and you can customize them to look and feel like your brand. Remember to keep it simple yet attractive. Here is where you can create a “lead magnet” that is valuable and actionable, to get some results.

Email Opt-in

At the landing page, you will prompt the customer for their email address in exchange for the lead magnet. You can use email marketing providers such as Aweber or Getresponse, to help with this.

Email autoresponder sequence

This part of the funnel is what helps you make money while you sleep. These autoresponders are made up of 9 “touches” to motivate, convince, or persuade someone into making a purchase. You can use autoresponders to pitch your offer, educate and entertain, share your brand story, and much more.

This is my favorite part of the funnel. It shows the effectiveness of the funnel you have in place!

Depending on what you’ve decided to sell on your blog, you can customize and set up a sales funnel to boost sales. ClickFunnels are great as they already have a bunch of funnels for you to choose from.
