Today, you can find many great Shopify themes on the market and eComSolid claims to be one of them. But is that true? That’s what we’ll find out in this review. eComSolid is free if you join the community plan and $19 a month for the premium upgrade. Is $19 a month worth it for eComSolid? eComSolid

eComSolid has been all over social media recently. Its creator, Gem Pages, has done a good job because it has definitely caught my attention, so I’ve decided to do this review. When I first heard of it, I was excited because they also have their very own visual page builder, which is already a pretty popular app on the market. So, here is my honest review.

What is eComSolid?

eComSolid is a Shopify theme that aims to offer great conversions and design freedom. The theme also comes with applications that you might need for your store so that you don’t have to purchase third party apps with incurring monthly fees and all that trouble.

Right off the bat, I love the look of the theme already. It looks like all the professional dropshipping stores already online – clean and polished. I imagine this theme to be suitable for dropshipping and even print on demand stores. However, it is also definitely more ideal for stores with more products.

How much is eComSolid?

eComSolid offers two plans which are Community, the free version where you can use the theme with full customization. If you’re familiar with Shopify themes, then you will know that it’s rare to find a free premium Shopify theme. How eComSolid makes its profit instead is by offering ‘Sales Boosters’ in the form of add-ons, which you have to purchase additionally. Therefore, it is basically an upsell with letting you use all their great features, but when it comes down to the real elements, you must pay for them.

The free version also does not have any support which means if you encounter any roadblocks along the way, nobody is going to help you unless you upgrade to premium. However, the premium version is quite pricey as it is $19 a month compared to themes that only require a one-off payment.

My first impressions on eComSolid

From an overview, eComSolid looks excellent both as an SEO optimized theme and also on mobile. Downloading and installing the theme is too easy. You just need to connect your store URL for it to automatically integrate and fix all your applications after prompting you for approval. Now, let’s go into each feature in detail:

Customization

A good theme usually comes with full customization. With eComSolid, I was surprised that you even get this feature in free mode. You get several layout options that you can use, and there is also the visual editor that you can play around with. Then, the pre-made template blocks are also convenient as you can either enable or disable them as you wish. You don’t necessarily have to use the templates, but they can also offer up some ideas. 

Visual Editor

The visual editor is really something as it makes it so easy to edit your website to how you want it. You can use it to edit picture texts, links, collections, subheadings, and everything else. What I love is that you don’t have to be a technical genius or a graphic designer to come up with a professional-looking page. You can also design a page that looks and feels in line with your brand image.

Integration

eComSolid comes with its own set of free apps. But if you don’t want to use them, you can also seamlessly integrate your own applications as the theme is optimized for global online selling, so it blends well with most Shopify apps. Some examples of apps included are the currency converter, sales notification, countdown timer, etc. Usually, these apps can cost you up to $50 a month is you were to download them separately, so $19 a month for premium is actually worth it. 

Add Ons

The add ons on eComSolid are what make it so popular. Extras include things like the sales timer, or the ‘buy more, save more’ column that compels customers to add more items into their cart. You can also customize the look of these add-ons so that it looks more professional and not too messy. These add-ons are also considered as high converting add-ons, which means they have the power to compel customers to increase their order, etc. 

Gem Pages

Gem pages allow for the creation of great, high-quality landing pages in a matter of time, and the fact that they are partnering with eComSolid already makes the theme worth it for $19 a month. 

Speed

Loading speed is another crucial element for premium themes, and you will be pleased to know that eComSolid has no problem with speed. Speed tests were carried out like theGTmetrix, which showed favorable results. Loading speed is critical because if your page loads even a few seconds slower, visitors will get frustrated and abort whatever they were there for in the first place. Worse yet, they might turn to your competitors’ page!

Conclusion

I really enjoyed using eComSolid and mostly because of its great features. Not to mention, you can also use it for FREE and get all the great features, including full customization. I think the option is great for anyone who just wants to try it out. However it does not include support which if you were a beginner you might need.  And even if you upgrade to the premium version, you will only be paying $19 a month, and you also get all the great apps and plugins that come with it! All this plus mobile optimization, eComSolid is truly an all-rounded theme.
